Evelyn Tackett

May 19, 1934 — March 11, 2024

Evelyn (Sanders) Chaney Tackett was 89 year old and passed on March 11, 2024. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Rayburn Louis Chaney and her beloved second husband of 58 years, Benjamin "Ray" Tackett. In addition, she was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Ethel Sanders, her siblings, James, Dena Mae, Rachel, and Charles; also her great granddaughter, Evelyn "Angel" Samples.

Evelyn is survived by her very special friend, Ronald Boss; and her six children, Linda Chaney, Kathy Chaney Davis (Dave), Sandra Chaney-Dunn, Jimmy Chaney (Joan), Donna Tackett (Mike), and Ricky Tindle (Maria). Evelyn also has twelve grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren, and ten great great grand children. She was expecting her great great great grand child in April this year.

Evelyn was an avid gardener. She loved plants, trees, and blooming flowers. In addition, she loved her pets. Over many years of different jobs, her favorite was when she was a nurse at the Silver Crest Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. Evelyn will be missed by her family, friends, and neighbors.
