Evelyn N.(Smith) Leidolf

Evelyn N. (Smith) Leidolf, 95, of Floyds Knobs, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2011 at home. Evelyn was a devout Catholic and lifelong member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church. She worked for 40 years at the former M. Fine & Sons, Inc., in New Albany. A loving mother and grandmother, the most important aspect of her life was her family. She left behind a legacy of family values and fond memories.

She was born on July 28, 1916 in Floyds Knobs to the late Anthony and Augusta (Deimler) Smith. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Dennis V. Leidolf; sister, Thelma Smith; and brother, Clifford Smith.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Lanum (Greg); brother, Harold Smith all of Floyds Knobs; grandchildren, Kelly Gedling (Edward), Carolyn Shaw, and Michael Lanum; great grandchildren, Cody, Cassidy, Baylee, Evan, Eli, and Allison; great great grandchild, Hazel; and her loving canine companion, Sophie.

Visitation will be from 12 to 6 PM on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church in Floyds Knobs with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
