Evelyn Joyce Jones

Evelyn Joyce Jones, 69, of Louisville, Kentucky, entered her forever garden on Friday, August 12, 2022. Evelyn was a very humble, and loving woman to her family and friends. A very strong-willed person that commanded order and excellence in all that she did. She displayed these traits in her kitchen when baking and preparing meals for others, in the lawn and garden of her home or when planning and organizing family events. Through her, we know what true resilience and perseverance looks like. No matter what she was always determined and would not stop fighting. There was no quit in EVELYN JOYCE!

She was born on November 20, 1952 in Union Springs, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her Mother, Ruby Doris Thornton, Husband, Charles Walter Jones, Brothers, Carl G. Thornton and Terry D. Thornton.

Evelyn is survived by her loving family, Daughters, Tamara Jaye Jones and Kenya Renee Jones; Sisters, Johnnie M. Thornton, Shelly A. (James) Smith, and Rhonda J. Thornton, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at New Birth Church (3301 Linda Lane Louisville, KY 40211). Her Celebration of Life Service will be at 12:00 pm on Saturday, at New Birth Church (3301 Linda Lane Louisville, KY 40211).
