Evelyn Elizabeth(Hubbuch) Powell

Evelyn Elizabeth (Hubbuch) Powell, 88, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 5, 2014. She was an active and charter member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Albany.

Evelyn was born on January 14, 1926 in New Albany to the late John A. and Florence M. (Gross) Hubbuch. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William H. Powell, Sr.; siblings, John V. Hubbuch, S.C. "Pete" Hubbuch, Mary Agnes Spencer, Anita Powell, Florence Haralson, Dorothy Popp, and Francis Hubbuch.

She is survived by her children, William H. Powell, Jr. (Debbie), Linda K. Robinson (Gary), Deacon Jeffrey A. Powell (Sadie), Diane M. Purvis (Greg); grandchildren, Jeremy Robinson (Dana), Lindsay Driskell (Dustin), Amanda Garant (Chris), Michelle Jadczak (Jeremy), Chelsea Becht (Curtis), Kayla Willoughby (Rob), Derrick Purvis (Kale) and Devin Purvis; great-grandchildren, Faith, John Paul, Adelyn, Luke, Harper; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 2 PM to 8 PM Friday, November 7, 2014 at Newcomer (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). A Prayer Service and sharing of memories will take place at 4 PM Friday. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (1752 Scheller Lane, New Albany, IN). Burial will be private at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.
