Evelyn Angelita "Ann" Duckworth

On the evening of Sunday, October 20, 2024, Evelyn Angelita "Ann" Duckworth, at 67, climbed the stairway to heaven under the care of her loving family. She was born on June 14, 1957, to the late Mr. & Mrs. Melvin/Evelyn Duckworth Sr, in Norfolk, Virginia. She was baptized and received Christ at an early age at Greater Salem Baptist Church under the leadership of Revered Ryan.  Evelyn, a vibrant community member, moved to Louisville, KY, and attended and graduated from Seneca High School. She worked for Nu-Kote International and owned and operated the kitchen at Joe's Palm Room. Her active involvement in the NAACP and the Golden Hawks Motorcycles Club, where she earned the nickname Spark Plug, left a lasting impact on those around her.

Evelyn leaves her memories, values, wisdom, and laughter to her son, Ira Duckworth (Leslie); step-mother, Clara Duckworth; two brothers, Melvin Duckworth Jr. (Darlyn) and Elvin Duckworth; three step-brothers, Olgen Buckner (Kim), Charles Buckner (Beverly) and William Buckner (Karen); step-sister Clarissa Buckner; five grandchildren, Nolen Hollingsworth (Brittany), Asia Duckworth, Kacie Duckworth, Kyron Malone-Duckworth, Elijah Holland, and four great-grandchildren, Elijah Holt Jr., KartierBurke, Deshawn Whitfield, and Devin Whitfield. She also leaves to cherish memories of a special/loving friend, Allen Frye; and a host of nieces/nephews and other relatives.

Her absence will be deeply felt, and many will remember her with love and respect.

Visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243.  A celebration of Evelyn's life will be held there at 11am on Friday, November 1, 2024 with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
