Eugene Davis, 79, of Louisville, KY passed away September 11, 2014. Eugene was a proud Army veteran, serving his county in the Korean conflict from 1952 to 1955.

Born February 24, 1935, in Thomasville, GA to the late George W. Davis and Emma Ruth Robinson. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Gregory A. Davis (Donna) and Alvin C. Davis, Sr.; and his grandmother, Pinkie Jackson.

Eugene is survived by his wife Janie (Nellon) Davis; daughters, Valerie G. Davis, Eugenia A. Davis (Al), and Erika N. Davis; sons, Eugene B. Davis and Troy A. Davis; sisters, Carolyn Sneed and Willie P. Williams; brother, Leroy Peeks, Sr.; granddaughters whom he raised, LaTonya R. Hocker (Lance), and Tonika N. Davis; 12 additional grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, September 18, 2014 at York Street Missionary Baptist Church (2225 West Jefferson Street, Louisville, KY 40212). Funeral Ceremony will be held Friday at 11:00 am at York Street Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery – Central in Radcliff, KY.
