Eugene "Butch" Edward Compton, 69, of Louisville, KY passed away on June 13, 2022 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital.
Butch was born in Louisville on November 30, 1952 to Joseph and Myrtle Compton. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving in Germany during his time in the service. He retired from Local 118 Painters Union and was currently the manager of East Point Storage. Butch was an avid U of L Sports fan and fisherman. He loved spending time with his family and holiday celebrations.
Butch is preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Patricia Underwood Compton; his parents, Joseph Vernon and Myrtle Mae Kessler Compton; sister, Verna Lee Compton; and his brother, Ronald Lewis Compton.
Butch is survived by his children, Becky (Terry) Sadler and Jessie (Jennifer) Morris; grandchildren, Kyle (Chelsea) Zoeller, Jayden Morris, and Corey (Ashley) Zoeller; great grandchildren, Chloe Armstrong, Caylynn Zoeller, Sophia Zoeller, and Noah Polston; sisters, Debbie (Terry) Woodruff and Vickie (Glennus) Skinner; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 17, 2022 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Drive). A service to celebrate Butch's life will follow at 7:00 pm that evening with cremation services to follow.
