Esther "Emma" (Maraman) Zurschmiede Pfeffer, 91, passed away on November 5, 2014. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in New Albany, as well as the Redman Club Ladies Auxiliary and the VFW Post 1693 Hobart Beach.
She was born on January 8, 1923 in Floyd County to the late William and Esther (Futter) Maraman. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Zurschmiede, Robert "Pete" Pfeffer; son, Charles Richard Zurschmiede; siblings, Donald "Pete" Maraman, Lucille Kendall, Robert Maraman, and Carolyn Moaklen.
Esther is survived by her children, James Zurschmiede, Barbara "Susie" Nicholson (Frank), Brian Zurschmiede (Joyce), Lisa Ramsey (Mike); 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Her Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Friday, November 7, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church (1787 Klerner Lane, New Albany).
