Errik Lee Duvall, age 52, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. A devoted husband, father, brother, and cherished Papaw, Errik embodied the true spirit of family and friendship.
He was born on October 15, 1972, in Louisville to Don and Mary (McMonigle) Duvall. It was his heart of gold that truly distinguished him; Errik was known for his generosity and selfless nature, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He delighted in forming connections with others, thriving on the joy of human interaction that made each person feel valued and appreciated.Errik's pride in others' achievements knew no bounds—he was everyone’s biggest cheerleader, celebrating each success with genuine joy. With his playful spirit, he collected nicknames throughout his life, famously known as the "mayor of Dixie Highway." To him, there were no strangers; he embraced everyone he met with warmth and camaraderie. Errik’s soul was contagious and could light up a room. He made everyone feel like they were special people. Errik’s personality was too large for this Earth and his love was something that truly had to be experienced.
A passionate advocate for his community and lover of animals, Errik shared a special bond with his beloved squirrel, Alice. But above all, he was a family man. A true hero in the eyes of his children, he was their go-to problem solver and unwavering supporter. Errik often found immense joy in spending lunch breaks at school with his grandson, Connor, making priceless memories with those he adored. Despite the sorrow of his passing, the light that Errik brought into the lives of those around him will forever shine bright.
He is preceded in death by his father, Don Richard Duvall, and mother, Mary Ellen Duvall, along with his beloved dog, Charlie. Errik leaves behind his loving wife and partner of 36 years, Jenny Duvall; his daughter, Nicole (Corey) Mills; grandson, Connor Mills; son, Errik Duvall, Jr.; brother, Rob (Lisa) Duvall; sister, Donna Cox; and a vast network of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, extended family, and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel on Dixie Highway. A celebration of Errik’s remarkable life will take place at 6:00 p.m. on the same day.
