Ernestine Williams

Ernestine "Tini" Williams, age 80 of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023. She was born on October 18, 1942 in Jefferson County, Kentucky to the late Ernest M. and Emma M (Kean) Taylor. She began her career in nursing as an LPN at Central State Hospital. Ernestine completed her studies as a surgical technician at Duke University Medical Center, Durham North Carolina. She spent several years employed in the surgical department at Louisville General Hospital prior to relocating to Killeen, Texas. Upon her return to Louisville, she furthered her studies at the University of Louisville, earning her credentials as a Registered Nurse. Ernestine went on to become the Director of Nursing at Britthaven of Prospect where she remained until her retirement. In addition to her parents, Ernestine is preceded in death by her husband, James F. Williams; siblings, Naomi E. Bayne, Raymond H. Taylor, Rena M. Hemphill, James R. Taylor and Mary L. Biggers.

Ernestine is survived by her loving children, Michael J. Williams (Jennifer) and Carey B. Williams; grandchildren, Jalani Bradshaw, Isabel Alvarez, Skylar Williams and Sydney Williams; siblings, Lillie Marlene Muir (Warren) and Gwendolyn T. Scott (Jerome); and sisters-in-law, Sylvia Taylor and Dorina Bell.

Visitation will be 10am to 12pm on Friday, April 21, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Anchorage, 11500 LaGrange Rd, Louisville, KY, followed by a celebration of Ernestine's life at 12pm. Burial will follow in Berrytown Cemetery.
