Mr. Ernest Tillman, born October 20, 1955 to the late George Tillman, Sr. and Viola Sherman Tillman. After a long illness, God extended his hand on August 11, 2011 to relieve him of his pain and to give him a new home over in Glory. Ernest was surrounded by his mother, children, brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews as he bide this world farewell.
Ernest was a graduate of Eastern High School. He served in the United States Army for four years. He was a self employed mechanic. Ernest was a very social and fun loving person, never met a stranger, and would help anyone in need. Ernest was good with his hands and was frequently called upon to share his talent as a mechanic. During his latter years, Ernest enjoyed spending more time with his grandchildren. Ernest was loved by his nieces and nephews as he would fondly call them "Buckhead". Ernest will be greatly missed and remembered by his family as ET or Ernie the Clown.
Ernest was preceded in death by his father, George Tillman, Sr. Left to cherish his memories are his mother, Viola Sherman Tillman (Nanny); children, Joseph Ford, Brian Harvey and Kieshi Tillman; brothers, George Tillman, Jr. (Erika) of Hohenfelfs, Germany, Anthony Tillman, Ananias Tillman (Vickie) and Maurice Richie (Joy); sisters, Hattie Tillman-Downs (Kenneth), Josie Adams (Charles), Jacqueline T. Brittle, Bonnie Tillman and Connie Cager all from Louisville, Kentucky. Ernest has five grandchildren, four nieces, five nephews and five great-nephews, along with a host of aunts, uncles and many friends.
Funeral ceremony will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, with visitation there from 5 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be noon Thursday, August 18 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Ky. Expressions of sympathy can be made to Hosparus.
