Erma Louise(Jones) Slaughter

Erma L. (Jones) Slaughter, 92, of Clarksville, Indiana passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2013. She was a kind and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Erma was a long-time resident of Westminster Village, a proud member of the American Legion Bonnie Sloan Post 28, and a Gold Circle member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 3281.

Erma was born on April 24, 1921 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Harry and Margaret (Denison) Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husband of over 72 years, Leroy Slaughter, and sister, Kathryn Nichols.

She is survived by her children, Terry Slaughter (Janet), Sharon Himmelheber, Patricia Ruoff (David); 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

Visitation will be from 10 AM to 2 PM on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with her Funeral Service being held at 2 PM in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
