Eric Hampton, 49, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021. Eric graduated from Doss High School and immediately joined the Navy. He qualified for submarine communications, which afforded him the opportunity to participate in course work at Old Dominion. Eric had a deep love for creating and performing music. He played multiple instruments and shared his love of music with his family and friends. He was a Louisville Cardinals fan and a New Orleans Saints fan. Eric had a kind soul and was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. He made many lasting friends while working at DJ Plastics, Montaplast, Churchill Downs, Brookline Beer Depot, and Humana. Eric was able to display his empathy toward the people he interacted with while at Humana and took pride in helping seniors solve their insurance issues and get registered for Covid vaccines. Eric will be missed by many. May he rest in peace.
He was born on December 21, 1971 in Louisville, Kentucky to Kenneth and Sandra (Allen) Hampton. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, CJ Allen, Wilma J. Allen, Kenneth E. Hampton, Sr., and Mildred M. Hampton; Uncle, Steve Allen; aunt, Denise Allen.
Eric is survived by his loving family, mother, Sandra A. (Dale) Lamp and father, Kenneth Earl (Letitia) Hampton, Jr.; siblings, Jessica (Travis) Hampton, Sarah (Kirk) Hampton, and Brian Hampton; nieces and nephews, Adrianna Harris, Zachary Zumwalt, Elysium Harris, and Cooper Zumwalt. As well as host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Service will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with a private family only graveside service to follow.
