Emory "Red" Johnson Guess, 87, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. Emory retired from the US Post Office and was an avid sports fan.
He was born on March 18, 1936 in Louisville, Kentucky to William and Willie (McQuany) Guess. He is preceded in death by his Father, William Guess, Mother, Willie Guess, Siblings, John Guess, Maude Baker, William Guess, and Wellington Guess.
Emory is survived by his loving Wife of 60 years, Virginia Ann Guess; Children, Gary W. Guess, Diane G. (Cedric) Rice, and Kerceila A. Guess; Grandchildren, Angelique (Carl) Mitchell, Taylor (David) Stephenson, Bailey (Keymond) Smith, and John Miles, IIII; Great-Grandchildren, Carl Mitchell, III, Breyden Smith, Keymond Smith, Jr., and Kemari Smith; Great-Grandkittens, Keanu, Kobe, and Lilly; Siblings, Harold Guess, Shirley Crowe, Barbara Williams, and Carey (Ann) Guess, Sr., as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends to cherish his memory forever.
Celebration of Life will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, October 16, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy).
The family requests that contributions in Emory's memory be made to 36th and Garland Church of Christ or Grace Hope Presbyterian Church.
