Emma Sue Foster

Emma Sue (Phillips) Foster, 74, passed away on April 29, 2012. Sue retired from the U.S. Census Bureau in Jeffersonville. An avid IU fan, she also loved the sport of bowling and participated in several bowling leagues.
She was born on October 31, 1937 in Muhlenburg County, Kentucky to the late Herman and Cesnia (Fulkerson) Phillips. She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Frances, Virginia, and Ruby.
Sue is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Ronald A. Foster, Sr.; daughters, Janice L. Fortney (Stewart) and Jo A. Smith (Dennis); sons, Ronald A. Foster, Jr. (Dianna) and John A. Foster; sister, Nila Gray; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Her Visitation will be 1 to 8 PM Wednesday, May 3, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday in the Paul F. Kraft, Sr. Memorial Chapel at Newcomer Funeral Home with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association (161 St. Matthews Avenue, Suite 3, Louisville, KY 40207).
