Emma Marieisaacs Salyer

Mrs. Emma Marie Isaacs Salyer, age 94 of Middletown passed away September 19, 2010 at the Masonic Home in Shelbyville. She was a member of the Middletown Eastern Star, Middletown Woman's Club, Middletown United Methodist Church, former teacher at Middletown Elementary School, having retired after a 33 year teaching career, was a University of Kentucky and Asbury College graduate. She was preceded in death by her husband Grover C. Salyer.

Mrs. Salyer is survived by her children, John M. Salyer (Brenda) and Donnie Salyer (Mary); grandchildren, Glenn, Julie, Whitney, Stephen and Sarah; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Garnett Reed; brothers, Pat and Melvin Issacs (Inez).

Funeral ceremony will be 1:00 pm. Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Middletown United Methodist Church, 11902 Old Shelbyville Road with burial in Middletown Historic Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from noon until time of service. Newcomer Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Expressions of sympathy may take form of contributions to Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky.
