She was born on February 2, 1941 in Barbourville, Kentucky to Bill York and Girtha Dorsey.
Emily is preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Beverly Thompson.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Poindexter; son, David Thompson; grandchildren, Devonna Dorsey, Evonna Dorsey, Cynthia Dorsey, Dontay Rogers, David Rogers, and Tynnetra Rogers; great grandchildren, Dazie Reed, Raydiance Witherspoon, Noah Witherspoon; great great grandson, Jace Mayes; and siblings, Mitchell Thompson, Jr., Berdie Stimen, and Jerry Thompson.
No public services will be held.
