Elvie "Dexter" Reece, 73, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022.
He was born on August 20, 1948 in Beattyville, Kentucky to the late William and Susie (Watts) Reece. He is also preceded in death by his brothers Alvin Reece, Calvin Reece, Melvin Reece and sisters, Alvie Shaffer, Rosie Harris and Eveylee Adkins.
Dexter is survived by his daughters Barbara A. Reece (Shirley), Sue Carroll (Patrick), Amanda Reece (Amanda), love his life Barbara J. Reece, grandchildren Casey Waddell, Brian Waddell (Kasey), Abby CArroll, Andrew Reece, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brothers Algin (Margaret), Leonard (Genean), Louis Reece and sisters Oda Marcum (Dennis), Mary Charles (Roy), Jane Evancho, Irma Hardin (Gary), Tena Workman, Mildred Davis Godby and Annie Ball.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 4:00 pm on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Newcomer Cremation, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
