Elsworth W. Scott, 90, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home on June 11, 2012. Elsworth retired from Colgate Palmolive, Inc, in 1987. He was a member of Scottsville Christian Church in Floyds Knobs and the Pythagoras Masonic Lodge #355 in New Albany.
Elsworth was born on March 31, 1922 in Floyds Knobs to the late Madison M. and Gertrude (Venner) Scott. He is also preceded in death by his son, Buddy Wayne Scott; grandson, Tony Atkins; son-in-law, Lee Prather; and three sisters, Charlotte Martin, Martha Hilton, and Hazel Wiseman.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Ada L. (Calkins) Scott; daughters, Drue Thompson (Ronnie) of Borden, Donna Atkins (Paul) of Sellersburg, Brenda Prather of New Albany, and Kimberly Scott; sons, Daniel Scott (Debbie), David Paul Scott, and Mike Scott (Connie), all of New Albany; 11 grandchildren, Tracey Stumler, Ronald Wayne Thompson, Todd Thompson, Chris Thompson, Jenny Garing, Devin Prather, Peter Scott, Jodie Budd, Thomas Scott, Zani Scott, and Mickie Scott; 17 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
His Visitation will be 1 to 8 PM Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and from 9 to 11 AM on Friday at Scottsville Christian Church (7857 Scottsville Road, Floyds Knobs, IN 47119). His Funeral Service will be at 11 AM on Friday at the church with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Christian Church Cemetery.
