Elsie G. Wilfong

Elsie G. Wilfong, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on October 13, 2024 at the age of 94. Born on July 4, 1930, in New York City, New York, she lived a life rich with love and cherished memories.

Elsie found great joy in the soothing strains of classical music, often filling her home with melodies that resonated deeply within her heart. An avid fan of movies and game shows, she spent countless evenings enjoying the simple pleasures of life.

Her proudest accomplishments were woven into the fabric of her family life. For 72 wonderful years, she stood by the side of her beloved husband, Max Wilfong, cultivating a partnership that was a beacon of love and support. Together, they built a warm and inviting home, a safe haven overflowing with love. As a mother, she nurtured her daughters, Cindy Wilfong and Rose (Matthew) Dulaney, guiding them with unwavering dedication and compassion.

Elsie's legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Justin (Samantha) Dulaney and Jamie Love, whose lives she enriched with wisdom and encouragement. The joy of being a great-grandmother to Destiny Love and Samantha Sowders was a source of immense pride for Elsie, as she treasured each precious moment spent with her growing family.

Elsie is preceded in death by her parents, Edward Zeman and Elsie Schneider Zeman. 

Cremation was chosen following Elsie's wishes. She will be laid to rest at Palmyra Cemetery.
