Elsie Virginia Johnson Calm

Elsie Virginia Johnson Calm, 97, of Louisville formally of Skokie, Illinois passed away on Friday, May 29, 2015 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and John Shoemaker with whom she lived. Elsie was born on April 5, 1918 in Chicago, Illinois.

She was devoted to her family and will be remembered for her loving heart, warm smile, sense of humor and all the puzzle books she enjoyed over the years.

She was a special and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Elmer Calm.

This is the verse that Mom read every morning before she started her day "Lord, help me to remember that nothing is going to happen to me today that you and I together can't handle." Psalm 68:19.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Beverly Shoemaker (John) of Louisville, KY and Bonnie (Ron) Eriksson of Scottsdale, Arizona, grandchildren Scott (Maureen) Shoemaker of Louisville, KY, Lori Shoemaker of Louisville, KY, Linda (Robb) Leatherwood of Scottsdale, Arizona, Steven (Kirstie) Eriksson of Scottsdale, Arizona, Tim (Dana) Eriksson of Tucson, Arizona, and David (Andrea) Eriksson of Phoenix, Arizona, and her precious great grandchildren Ryan Shoemaker of Louisville, Julia Shoemaker of Louisville, Erika and Emily Leatherwood of Scottsdale, Elsa and Ethan Eriksson of Scottsdale, Toby, Cooper, and Alexa Eriksson of Phoenix, River and Stone Eriksson of Tucson.

Mom; we love you and we will miss you so very much.
