Eloise Walton "Weezy" Gatewood

January 23, 1946 — May 31, 2024

Eloise Walton "Weezy" Gatewood, 78, passed away on May 31, 2024. Spending time with her family meant the world to her. Eloise was a strong woman of faith and enjoyed listening to gospel music.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Jewell Gatewood; parents, Orville and Missouri Rice and her brother, Edgar Rice.

Eloise leaves to cherish her memories, her sons, Michael Thompson, Kevin Gatewood and Bryan Thompson; grandchildren, Destany Gatewood, Devin Bryant, Candice Warlaw, Ross Thompson and Kristina Bruner great-grandchildren, Ambrosia, Levi, Dallas, Duke, Tegan, Jamie and Ace and bonus daughter, April Frizzell.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 4pm-8pm. A celebration of Eloise's life will be on Friday, June 7, 2024, beginning at 11am at the funeral home.
