Elizabeth Wrightson

Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Copeland Wrightson of Louisville passed away peacefully at her daughter's home October 8, 2011. She was born in Huntington, West Virginia on September 15, 1925 to the late O. E. Copeland and Clara Neylon. She graduated valedictorian from St. Joseph High School in Huntington, attended Ohio Dominican College in Columbus, Ohio and received her masters in Social Work from St. Louis University and the University of Louisville. While finishing her degree in Louisville, Betty met Alan Stevens Wrightson, Sr. who would become her husband of 35 years until his death in 1987. She has been an active member of St. Margaret Mary parish, where she loved to worship and sing with the choir.

Besides her husband and parents, Betty is preceded in death by her daughter Mary Beth Kopesky, her son, Bruce Wrightson, and her grandson, Patrick Wrightson.

She is survived by her children Mark Wrightson (Donna), Arthur Wrightson (Marianne), Kathie Wrightson, Steve Wrightson (Michelle) and William Wrightson (Lisa) and her grandchildren Brian Wrightson, Christopher Wrightson, Lacee Kloze, Matthew Kopesky, Sarah Kopesky, Mary Wrightson, Kathleen Wrightson, Erin Wrightson, Nicholas Wrightson, Joseph Wrightson, Abby Wrightson, Michael Wrightson, and Daniel Wrightson.

Funeral mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary Church, 7813 Shelbyville Rd, at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 11, 2011. Visitation before the service will begin at the church at 9:00 am. Memorials are suggested to the Music and Worship Committee at St. Margaret Mary Church. Online condolences may be made
