Elizabeth Eileen St. Clair Kotcamp, age 92 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. She was born on Christmas Day in 1932 in Akron, Ohio, to the late Franz Adolphus St. Clair and Myrtle LaRue Sutton St. Clair. She earned her R.N. from Akron City Hospital School of Nursing. After graduation, she became a nurse at Akron City Hospital where she met her future husband, Wayne W. Kotcamp, MD, a young orthopaedic surgery resident. After the two were married in 1955, they moved to Louisville, KY; Quantico, VA; San Francisco, CA; Pasadena, CA; finally settling in Louisville. Wayne and Eileen loved to travel and took their four children to all the continental United States. After the children were grown, they continued their travels all over the world. Eileen’s two favorite trips were touring the Holy Land and going to Switzerland in the middle of the winter. Eileen was very artistic and an accomplished pianist and organist. She was an avid volunteer at her children’s schools, scout troops, and performed eye exams and scoliosis testing for the school system. Her greatest joys in life were her pets and doting on her dear grandchildren whom she cherished. “GG” loved keeping them at her house, having them for adventures on their boat, taking them on trips and attending all their activities. Eileen was truly one of the sweetest people in the world and she will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, GG is preceded in death by her dear grandson, Fenton Kottkamp; and her husband, Wayne Kotcamp.
GG is survived by her loving children, Earl (Elizabeth), Kathy (Mark Robinson), Wayne (Staci) and Stephen (Jane); her grandchildren, Sarah (Billy), Hannah (James), Nathanael (Leda), Rush (Brandi), Liam (Ashley), Harrison, Breck (Lauren), Wheeler and Dawson; and her great grandchildren, Charlie, Alice, Jem, Adlai, and Magdelena; and a host of family and friends.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff and caregivers at Creekside on Bardstown and Nazareth Home Clifton for the love, care and kindness that GG received.
