Elizabeth Stewart Kennedy

Elizabeth "Betty" Stewart Kennedy (95) passed away May 5, 2022 at her home. She was born in Mullens, WV, the youngest of four children of Sarah and Hunter Stewart. While attending Concord College in Athens, WV she met her future husband Doug Kennedy. The newlyweds moved to Colorado where both graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder. They moved to Louisville, KY and made it their permanent home.

Betty was a devout Christian and a member of Middletown United Methodist Church. Preceding her in death were her son William "Bill" Kennedy and her husband of 70 years, Dr. H. Douglas Kennedy. Survivors include her son David Kennedy (Yi Ju), who took care of her in her later years; daughter Susan Kennedy (Barry Swihart) of Lexington, KY; and three beloved grandchildren, Michael Kennedy (Laura), Daniel Owsley (Rachel) and Sarah Meers (Brett).

As Betty had requested, services will be private with burial at Cave Hill Cemetery.
