Eleanor J. Gehlbach, 93, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2012. She was a member at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Albany where she was also active in the Altar Society.

Eleanor was born on November 29, 1918 in New Albany to the late William E. and Mary Rose (Sciler) Gehlbach. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Herman and William Gehlbach.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Larry Gehlbach (Carolyn), Paul Gehlbach (Terri), Linda Boyd (Harold), Janet Gehlbach; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10 AM to 12:30 PM on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN). Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 PM on Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church (415 E. Eighth Street, New Albany) with burial to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Contributions in Eleanor's memory may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church for Masses.
