Eleanor Louise Cox

Eleanor Louise (Pershing) Cox, 94, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 10, 2022. She has rejoined her husband, Alonzo Cox; her parents, Ernest and Elva Pershing; and her brother, William Pershing. No doubt she is already singing with the angels.

Eleanor leaves her daughter, Ellen (Stephen) Scott; granddaughter, Melissa (Dylan) Everhart; great-granddaughter, Blaire Eleanor Everhart; and great-nephew, Adam (Nicholle) Pershing to cherish their memories of her and to rejoice that she is at peace. Highly educated, well-traveled, and fiercely protective of her family, Eleanor left her imprint on all that she did and everyone she met.

Private services will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Cemetery in Washington, Indiana.

The family requests that contributions in Eleanor's memory be made to St. Marks Church (222 E. Spring Street, New Albany, IN 47150).
