Eldon D. "Bo" Bowman, 67, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2012 after battling several long health issues. He was a life-long road trucker who enjoyed horseback riding in his younger years, old cars, fishing and hunting.
He was a free-spirited person that you could always count on for a joke or an impish smile. He battled and over came colon cancer two years ago, along with a stroke nearly one year ago. Bo had been doing very well until another colon cancer showed up in July of this year. He tried to rally back but was very weak and his heart could not fight anymore. He slipped into sleep Saturday night and passed away on Sunday afternoon. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and former trucking buddies.
Bo was born on January 19, 1945 in Rensslaer, Indiana to the late Charles J. and Martha (Parr) Bowman. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Jo Roy. He is survived by his loving companion of over 18 years, Mary Ann Webster; daughter, Deanette Hobbs (Demetrius); brother, Steven Bowman (Debbie); 10 step-children; 3 step-grandchildren; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren with another on the way.
Visitation will be 2 to 8 PM on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 11 AM on Thursday, August 30 at the funeral home with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
