Elder Juan Hunter Sr, was born to Sammie Hunter and John Dorsey on October 12, 1959. He attended Western High School and was the second eldest of 6 siblings.
In November of 1987, Pastor Hunter was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost at Greater Bethel Temple in Louisville, KY, under the late Dr. William P. Foree.
He was a very hard worker from a young age and he contributed that to the rearing of his stepdad, James Davis,Sr. During his career he always displayed a since of leadership. While working for Action Now, planting trees in the Louisville Area, he was a teenage supervisor. He also held positions of leadership with the Jefferson County Board of Education before his retirement from Metro Louisville Housing Authority he was the Regional Director.
He retired from Metro Louisville Housing Authority, to fulfill a greater work God had begun in him.
After servicing God in many compacities and gaining and growing in Spiritual knowledge from men of God, like Suff. Bishop Eugene Stewart, Bishop Johnathan Mullins Sr and Eld Waverly Holland. God commissioned him in 2010, into Pastorship and he founded Fountain of Life Ministries. He was dedicated to the saving of souls and retired from Housing to be able to solely focus on ministering to the lost and helping people to know that there is hope and it is in God.
God used him mightily, up until he called him home on September 2, 2021. Even in the hospital he was ministering to those taking care of him.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Melanie; five children, Sha'Juanda (William) McLemore, Lisa Hunter, Juan Hunter Jr, Justin Andrew Hunter and Jordan Hunter; seven grandchildren; mother, Sammie Hunter-Davis; 4 brothers, Chet (Pattie - deceased) Hunter, Dale (Shernequa) Hunter, Tony Hunter and James (Ruth) Davis, Jr; sisters, Lisa Hunter and Brenda (Alfred) Hunter-Traynor; uncle Jerry Hunter and a host of family and friends and the entire Fountain of Life Ministries Church family.
