Eileen Hahn DiSalvo (Croston), 72, of New Albany, Indiana, surrounded by family, went home to her Savior after a long and courageous battle on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. She was a devoted, generous, and compassionate spouse, mother, grandmother, and friend. A long-time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Jeffersonville, Eileen was a woman who loved the Lord and whose goodness was recognized by all. Her family and friends were her greatest joy. She gave unconditional love, encouragement, and happiness to them every day.
Eileen was born on October 2, 1940 in Rochester, New York to the late George and Nora Croston and relocated to New Albany, Indiana in 1979. She was also preceded in death by James A. Hahn; brother, Rev. Bro. Brendan Croston; brother-in-law, George Ehrhardt; and nephew, William Ehrhardt.
She will be forever cherished by her husband, Daniel DiSalvo; beloved daughters, Theresa Hahn, Christine Hahn and Maureen Lewis (Dean); precious grandson, Jackson Lewis; sisters, Nora Ehrhardt and Judith Bubel (Raymond); many nieces and nephews; four Godchildren; loving Hahn family; treasured DiSalvo family: Debbie Heaverin (Donald), Donna Hopkins, David DiSalvo (Mary Ann), Denise Meyer (David), Daniel J. DiSalvo (Katyann), Darin DiSalvo (Julie); 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and many dear friends.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 PM on Friday, May 17, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 PM on Saturday, May 18 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
Her family extends special gratitude to Dr. Daniel Metzinger and N'Shoba Allen for their thoughtful and constant care.
