Eileen Carol Everitt

Eileen Carol (Caudill) Everitt, 76, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024. She was born on January 12, 1948 in Whitesburg, Kentucky to the late Watson Caudill and Margie Anderson Caudill. Eileen held many offices in the Psi Iota Xi and Beta Sigma Chapter Sororities. She was a member of the Indiana State Teacher's Association and the Jennings Township Classroom Teacher's Association. Eileen graduated Valedictorian of the Austin High School Class of 1966. She went on to receive a Bachelors of Arts Degree in English and History in 1970 from Lee University in Cleveland, TN and a Masters in Secondary Education in 1975 from Indiana University Southeast. Eileen taught freshman English and Literature from 1970 until her retirement over 33 years later at Austin High School. She was a talented piano player and loved to sing. Eileen was united in marriage to Herbert Everitt on June 23, 1979.

Eileen is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Herbert Everitt; sister, Laura (Ronald) Wright of Austin, IN; sisters-in-law, Joan Gross and Jan (Dan) Evans all of Charlestown, IN; nieces, Sherry (Chris) Fugate and Susie (Ryan) Begley all of Austin, IN; great-niece, Kailey Fugate of Chicago, IL; and great-nephews, Ethan Fugate of Austin, IN and Chandler Bowman of New Albany, IN; her feline companions, Tommy and Buddy; and many friends and extended family.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm on Saturday, at the funeral home. Cremation will follow in accordance with Eileen's wishes.
