Edwina Faith "Wendy" (Potts) Sparks

Edwina Faith "Wendy" (Potts) Sparks, 79, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023. She was the glue that held her family together. Wendy not only held a nursing degree from Indiana University, but also an accounting degree from the University of Reno. Wendy, RN, CPA, was also a master scrap-booker. A recent born-again Christian, Wendy had many friends at Forward Church Family in New Albany.

She was born on July 21, 1943, in Elizabeth, Indiana, to Lawrence and Pearl (Barger) Potts. In addition to her parents, Wendy was preceded in death by her siblings, Rose and Dale.

Wendy is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jack Sparks; children, Christy Jackson (Tim) and Shane Sparks (Jennifer); siblings, Kathleen Binkley (Bob) and Ken Potts (Jeanne); grandchildren, Katrina Tucker (Erik), Ryan Jackson (Miranda), Noah Sparks, and Holly Sparks; and great-grandson, Mikaiah Tucker.

Wendy's wish was to be cremated, and Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with her care. A celebration of her life will be hosted by Wendy's family from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 7935 Old SR 111, Elizabeth, IN 47117 (look for the adjacent driveway).
