Edwin Harold Rodriguez

Edwin Harold Rodriguez Sr., 91, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on July 14, 2024. Edwin was born on November 15, 1932, Detroit, Michigan to the late Henry and Catherine (Krok) Rodriguez. After graduating from Western High School in Detroit Michigan, he decided to serve in the National Guard from 1947-50 and later joined the United States Navy and served from 1950-53. After his honorable discharge from the navy, he went on to work for and ultimately retired from A&P Tea Company as a food service supervisor. Edwin enjoyed watching westerns, was an avid reader, and was incredibly well versed in world history. He was a devoted husband, loving father, devoted grandfather and great-grandfather. His memory will be cherished by all those whose lives he touched. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Rodriguez; Son, Edwin Rodriguez, Jr.; Brothers, Henry Rodriguez, Jr., Robert Rodriguez, Daniel Rodriguez, Richard Rodriguez.

Edwin is survived by his children, Daughters, Catherine Hitt, Christine Davis (Tim), Constance Wright (Michael), Roanna Pierce, Linda Pugh (Robert), Donna Pierce; former Spouse, Clara L. Martin; Brother, Raymond Rodriguez (Lauri), and many nieces and nephews along with multiple loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm Saturday, July 20, 2024, followed by funeral service at 5:00pm, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY, 40243).  A comital service and honors will take place Monday, July 22nd, at 2:00pm at the mausoleum chapel at the cemetery followed by burial, at 2:30pm, at St. Hedwig Cemetery, 23755 Military Rd., Dearborn Heights, MI, 48127.
