Edwin B."Buddy' Kelmel

Edwin B."Buddy" Kelmel, 94, of Sellersburg, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving his country during WWII. He was a proud recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Buddy was also a member of St. Joe Hill Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 204 in Sellersburg.

Buddy was born on October 5, 1918 in Carr Township to the late Bernard J. and Carolyn (Graf) Kelmel. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary L. (Geltmaker) Kelmel; children, Kathy L. White (Don), Elizabeth A. Corcoran (John), Janette M. Sparks (Clarence), Joseph E. Kelmel (Diane), Julie C. Mader (Rick); 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM at St. Joe Hill Catholic Church (2605 St. Joe Road West, Sellersburg) with burial and military honors to follow in the church cemetery.
