Edward Lorenzo Salters

October 23, 1988 — September 1, 2022

Edward Lorenzo Salters was born the oldest of two children October 23, 1988 to his parents Camille R. Ralston and Jessie E. Salters (Sabrina). They oversaw his introduction to the church at a young age and was baptized at First Virginia Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, Louisville, KY. He spent three years as a child in Baumholder, Germany, learning and growing. Upon returning with his parents to the United States he lived in Fort Stewart, GA., and then returned to Louisville to grow as a child into adulthood. His parents will always enjoy and cherish sweet memories of Edward.

Edward will be missed by his sister Marleen R. Salters, siblings, Alona Mack, Jessica N. Salters, Brian A. Salters, grandmother, Grace E. Ralston, aunt, Sharon L. Dallum (Herbert), uncle, Robert A. Ralston, aunt, Marsha L. Reinauer (Kevin), cousins; Kevin A. Dallum, Catherine E. Dallum, Marilyn L. Ralston, Shawn E. Reinauer, Maya G. Chapa (Nathan), Destinee M. Reinauer, great uncle, Larry E. He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Florence Evelyn (Ralston) Strawter, and Walter H. Strawter, great-grandmother, Susie M. Smith, grandfather, Norman E. Ralston, Sr., uncle, Norman E. Ralston, Jr. (Karen), grandmother, Dorothy Bell Salters, aunt, Doris Salters, uncles, Elijah Salters and Ernest Salters, and all those who have gone before him.

He was a true University of Kentucky basketball fan, a good swimmer, knowledgeable in history, loved football, cooking, and construction work. But, most of all, he was helpful to others by always being willing to lend a hand.
A young man who loved and respected his community, and that community returned that respect and love. Neighbors often felt safe, because he was a constant figure, that everyone knew, and could rely on to be a "Neighborhood Watch". The sense of security he provided was appreciated, and local merchants praised the value of his goodness, as well. A loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, he will always be known as a quiet and gentle soul.

As a 2007 graduate of Western Magnet High School, Shively, KY., after which he received his diploma, he went on to acquire numerous awards of Certificates of Achievements to pursue his interest.
