Edward "Poppy" Limer

Edward "Poppy" Limer, 100, passed away on June 22, 2024. He and his wife Lara, owned and operated Limers and Glengarry Key Markets in Fairdale, KY for 29 years. Edward was a proud WWII Army veteran, a member of the Fairdale Lions Club and a Mason. He loved woodworking and gardening. Edward was outgoing and always greeted everyone with a smile.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lara Limer; daughter, Carole Parks; parents, Ira and Cassie Limer; siblings, Beatrice, Mildred Lois, Marvin, Samuel, Edward, Alberta, Lucille, Mary Frances, Marce Allen and Walter Everett.

Edward leaves to cherish his memories his grandsons, Scott (Michelle) Parks and Gary Michael (Yvette) Parks; son-in-law, Gary Parks; great-grandchildren, Michael Scott Parks, Shanna Parks and Justin Parks; great-great- grandson, Julian Parks.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 12pm-6pm with a celebration of Edward's life beginning at 6pm.

Edward will be laid to rest with his wife Lara Limer at South Jefferson Cemetery.
