Edward Gedling

Edward L. Gedling, 76, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014. A veteran of the U. S. Air Force, Ed was retired from the U. S. Naval Ordnance Station in Louisville. A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

Ed was born on May 7, 1937 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to the late Edward D. and Dorothy A. (Dooley) Gedling. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Gedling; daughter, Melissa Broady; sister, Delores "Dody" Gedling; and brother, Richard "Dickie" Gedling.

He is survived by his daughter, Becky Lanham (Wayne); son, Edward "Mickey" Gedling (Kelly); sister, Dorothy Payne; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM Friday, April 18, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150). His Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday with military honors and burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
