Edward Eugene Jones

Edward Eugene Jones, 85, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2013. He retired in 1990 from Southern Standard Carton. He was a devoted Catholic, and was a member of St. Theresa's Church, in Payneville, as well as a member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Louisville. He was a Third Order Franciscan who loved his family and his farm in Payneville, KY.

Edward is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Gallrein and Mary Mabel (Jarboe) Van Vactor; brothers, Russell Jones, Victor Van Vactor, Sonny and David Gallrein.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Shirley Jarboe Jones; children, Ann Meyer, Dennis (Anne) Jones, Kathleen (Charles) O' Quinn, Mary Theresa (Deacon David) Smith, Mark (Denise) Jones and Robert Jones; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill Gallrein, Paul, Robert and Richard Van Vactor

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 18, from 1pm-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway) and Thursday, December 19, from 9am-11am at St. Theresa's Church, 9425 Rhodelia Road, Payneville, KY. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, December 19, beginning at 11am at St. Theresa's Church. Interment will be on the Jones Family Farm.
