Edna Fuller Barbee, 86, peacefully passed away on May 21, 2024 in Louisville, Kentucky.
Edna was born on March 20, 1938, in Charleston, West Virginia. Edna accepted Christ at an early age and found joy in attending church, listening to
Gospel music, and reading her Bible. She was married to James Fuller, with whom she had five children. After James' passing in 1969, Edna found love again in April 1983 with Archie Barbee Sr. Together, they relocated to Springfield, Tennessee, where she was an active member of City of Faith Church until her passing. Edna lived by the golden rule and believed in doing right by others.
She held various employment positions in healthcare and education in Tennessee and Louisville, Kentucky. Edna will be remembered for her faith, kindness, and dedication to her family and community.
Edna is survived by her five children: William Fuller Sr. (Sheila), Marie Jeffries (Ronald), Patrick Fuller (Carolyn), Greta Beard and Rev. Reuben Fuller. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Desper Williamson, two sisters-in-law, Jeanette and Helen Desper, four grandchildren, William Jr., Rondriquez, Roniqua and Tierra, a great-grandson, Cameron, a bonus daughter, Lisa Sanders, loving neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Stewart, as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rubin and Edna Desper, her husband, Archie Barbee Sr., and several siblings and family members.
Visitation for Edna Fuller Barbee will be held from 10am-12pm on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 3315 Dixie Highway, Louisville KY 40216. A celebration of her life will begin at 12pm, followed by burial at Green Meadows Cemetery.
