Edna Bernice Adkins, 100, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on July 16, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born on October 26, 1921 to James & Charity Mitchell in Natchez, Mississippi and was raised alongside three siblings. Edna's parents passed when she was young, so she was raised by her grandmother, Rachel. She was raised in Chicago, Illinois. It was there that she planted roots and raised nine children of her own. She later moved to San Diego, California and spent over half her life there. From there, she relocated to Louisville, Kentucky.

Edna loved to shop, cook, travel, and was very involved with her faith. She was an active member of the Jehovah's Witnesses for over 47 years. Even at 100 years of age, Edna was so full of life.

Edna is preceded by her parents; her siblings, Elizabeth, John, & Steve; and her children, Robert, Brenda, Carolyn, Carlton, Michael, & Jackie. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Carl (Jamie), Diana (Gary), Richard (Liz), & Renee (Aaron); her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great-great-great grandchildren, as well as a host of other family members and friends who will all miss her dearly.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243) from 9:00am - 12:00pm with the funeral service to begin at 12:00pm. Burial will take place at Crosswater Gardens Cemetery (7110 Billtown Rd, Louisville, KY 40299).
