Edith G. (Cox) Fischer, 89, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2012 at Autumn Woods. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Albany.
Edith was born on May 22, 1922 in French Lick, Indiana to the late Harry and Gracie L. (Clark) Stroud Cox. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Fischer, and brothers, Phillip R. Stroud and Edward Cox; great-granddaughter, Hilary Metzmeier.
She is survived by her children, Sandy Tanner (Jim), Mike E. Fischer (Marcia) all of New Albany; sister, Laverne Schuck (Charlie); grandchildren, Angie Metzmeier (Bryan), Eric Pender (Becky); great-grandchildren, Tanner and Abby Metzmeier, Ben, Max, and Ella Pender.
Visitation will be from 1 PM to 8 PM on Friday, January 20, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN). Her Funeral Service will take place at 11 AM on Saturday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
Contributions in Edith's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or Kosair Charities.
