Edith LaDonna Anson, 79, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on October 14, 2022. She was born to the late John Gortney and Ruby Jones on May 15, 1943 and was raised alongside one sister.
Edith graduated from Eastern High School. She was an interior decorator and worked as an independent consultant, helping many homeowners in Kentucky and North Carolina. She taught paint classes and was very creative and artistic. She was married to Tom Anson for 13 years. The family moved together to North Carolina, planting roots there. Edith knew God as her Lord and Savior. Edith's pride and joy was her family. She was a committed and loyal leader, always teaching her children strong family values. It was important to remain humble and keep the family together. Her children recognized her not only as a great mother, but as a best friend.
Edith is preceded by her husband, Tom Anson; her great friend and ex-husband, James Blair; her mother, Ruby "Grandmurry" Jones; her step-father, Marvin "Granddaddy" Jones; and her sister, Joan Ayers. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Kim (Perry) King, Missy (Doug) Wilson, and James "Jimmy" Blair; her grandchildren, Kris King, Brian King, Ashley (Nick) Trzaskus, Brent (Kate) Wilson, Haylee (John) Mitchell, Karlee (Tripp) Honeycutt, Kaytee (Jason) Ward, and Andrew Blair; her great-grandchildren, Chase, Lizzie, Kyler, Bryce, Layla, Charlotte, Kacey, Eden, Scarlet, Llewyn, Ember, Eli, Ivy, Addie, Liam, Charlee, Rylee, and Maycee; her step-sister, Cookie Lawson; her cousin, Sissy Dunaway, as well as other relatives and friends who will all continue her legacy.
There will be a Celebration of Life on on Monday, October 17, 2022 at Long Run Baptist Church (1901 Flat Rock Rd, Louisville, KY 40245) at 12:00pm with a reception to follow. The service will be officiated by her grandson, Pastor Brent Wilson.
