Edgar L. Hale Sr., 90, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his family. Edgar enjoyed spending time in the garage working on lawn mowers and cars. He was known for sitting on the front porch visiting with friends and family. Edgar was a member of Beechland Baptist Church. He worked for General Electric for 30 years before his retirement. Edgar proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Edgar loved animals from his pets to feeding the squirrels. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was born on May 27, 1932 in Axtel, Kentucky to John and Carrie (Ferry) Hale. He is preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Regina Hale, Son, Edgar Hale Jr., Siblings, Stanley Hale, David Hale, Johnny Hale, Emmett Hale, Mildred Carter, Virginia Hardin, and Jackie Adkins..
Edgar is survived by his Daughters, Debra Hale, and Becky Gassman, Son, Ronald Hale, Daughter-In-Law, Julia Hale, Grandchildren, Jeremiah (Danielle), Melanie, Jennifer (Clayton), Joshua, Glenn, April (Jason), and Christal (Robert), Great Grandchildren, Destiny (Thomas), Caitlyn, Sydra, Noah, Shayla, Eric, Byron, Brigid, Alex, Joey, Robert, and Arianna, Sister, Margaret Fuqua. Edgar also leaves behind to cherish his memory a host of Nieces, Nephews, Friends, Cousins, and Extended Family.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Visitation will resume on Thursday, December 22, from 10:00 am until the time of Services. His Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial and Military Honors to follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Mount Washington, Kentucky.
