Eddie Childers

Eddie Childers, 73, of Sellersburg, Indiana passed away on August 15, 2016. He was born on October 7th, 1942 to the late Arthur and Sarah (Boswell) Childers. Ed was very kind, caring, and helped everyone that ever crossed his path. He had a genuine heart, wonderful sense of humor, and was always thinking about others. Ed could fix everything and always had the tools needed. He loved gardening and spending time with family and neighbors. Any person who ever knew him loved him to the fullest.

Eddie is survived by his faithful partner of 30 years, Joyce Hazel and her children, Tim Scott, Troy (Vicki) and Todd Hazel and her grandchildren, Caitlin and Hayley Scott and Samantha and Alex Hazel; daughters, Lisa (Barry Barger) Borders and Donna (Mike West) Hale; grandchildren, Brandon, Amanda, Shelby, Chelsea, Austin, Alex, Lauren, and Matt; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bob Childers, Mary Hibbs, and Jean Carby; loyal companion, "Rudy"; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, August 22nd, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40272). His Funeral Ceremony will be held Tuesday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park (4400 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40218).
