Earnest James Phillipy Iii

Earnest "Jim" Phillipy III, 61, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024. He had been an employee at Louisville Auto Auction, where he loved working on cars. Jim was an avid fisherman and enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with his family.

He was born on October 11, 1962 in New Albany, Indiana to Earnest, Sr. and Pauline (Carver) Phillipy. Jim is survived by his wife, Samantha (Scoggins) Phillipy; children, Jeremy, Amanda, Ashley, Baylee Phillipy, Bryan Scoggins; grandchildren, Bennett, Kessa, Chance, Cainon, Riley, Phillip, Jr.; and sisters, Cindy Deckard (Virgil "Lynn"), Rita Phipps and Mary Smith.
