Dwayne Waddill, 60, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 1, 2022, after a brief illness. He was born on February 21, 1961, in Detroit Michigan and resided in Louisville for the past 60 years. Dwayne loved to visit the family farm in East Tennessee; a peaceful place in Fisher Valley he called " A little piece of Heaven." Dwayne and Carol were planning to retire there soon because they loved spending time with family there. He enjoyed cooking Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner for his brother and family. Dwayne could always have you laughing and put a smile on your face. He will be truly missed and will forever live in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Ruby Waddill; grandparents, Ernest & Susie Waddill and Edward & Virgie Baker and his mother-in-law, Juanita Stapleton.
Dwayne leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 37 years, Carol Gibson Waddill; brother, Steve "Bubba" Waddill; niece, Violet Ann ("Love You Girl"); Violet's mother, Emily Wiedemann; aunts, Ada Boggs, Dallas Baker, Pebble Baker; several special sister and brother-in-laws; nieces; nephews; special great nieces and great nephews, Harlan "Pookie", Gauge "Pistol", River, Aaliyah and Ashanti and several cousins, friends and neighbors.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 3pm-8pm with a celebration of Dwayne's life beginning at 6pm and Brother Tim Bass will be officiating the service.
A graveside service will be Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Goins and Gibson Cemetery, 1976 Fisher Valley Road, Kyles Ford, TN, 37765, beginning at 2pm, with Brother Tim Bass officiating.
The pallbearers for the graveside service are Derick Gibson, Dusty Moore, David Berry, Trinity Watlington, Harlee Watlington, Cory Maness and the honorary pallbearers are Steve Waddill, Jamie Gibson and Seth Brooks.
