Duval Ray Means, 86, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023. He was a longtime member of Cherry Street Church of Christ.
He was born on September 24, 1936, in Bowen, Kentucky, to William and Annabelle (Lane) Means. In addition to his parents, Duval was preceded in death by his wife, Jean (Snelling) Means.
Duval is survived by his children, Melanie Adams (Jeff), Cindy Couch, and Angie Martin (Rick); sister, Phyllis Turley; grandchildren, Justin Adams (Misty), Ben Adams (Andi), Jonthan Adams (Mariah), Will Adams (Lindsay), Mike Adams (Maria), Kira Lindsey (Jon), Sam Couch, Noah Martin, and Katie Martin; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Friday after 9:00 a.m. at Cherry Street Church of Christ (302 Cherry Street, New Albany). His funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the church with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
