Dr. Sujan Singh, beloved husband and father, left the surly bonds of earth on November 27, 2010 to be with God. He was a principled, Godly man who had a tremendous loving and generous spirit. He was born in present day Rawalpindi, Pakistan in 1928. From humble beginnings in India, he persevered through hard work and dedication. After obtaining his doctorate in Organic Chemistry from Banaras Hindu University, he stayed active in research and teaching. After stents in Louisiana (United States Department of Agriculture) Texas, and Boston (Harvard University - nutrition and cancer research) he came to the University of Louisville Department of Chemistry in 1978. He was also an active member of the American Chemical Society. His research and its applications were widely published in a multitude of professional academic journals. He was loved and respected by his students, many whom occupy high positions in industry, medicine and academia. He is survived by his wife, Narinder; daughter, Jyoti (Poppy) and two sons, Gagan (Bobby) and Pavan.
