Dr. Linda Wilson, a cherished educator and beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, in her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. Surrounded by her beloved husband, Robert Jordan, she left this world as gracefully as she lived her life, filled with devotion and compassion for her family and friends.
Born on April 16, 1950, Linda was the loving daughter of Louise and Robert Wilson. Growing up in Louisville, she developed a passion for learning that led her to attend Male High School before furthering her education at University of Louisville, where she earned her Doctorate. With this achievement, she dedicated over 27 years of her life to the University of Louisville College, serving as an administrator. Her time there was marked by her unwavering commitment to working with and counseling students, helping countless individuals find their paths and realize their potential.
Linda's personality shone through in every interaction. She was intelligent, devoted, and dedicated, qualities that defined not only her career but also her roles as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond the walls of academia; she adored and cherished her grandchildren and niece, pouring her heart into the moments spent with them. Whether sharing a laugh during family gatherings or being a guiding presence in their lives, she exemplified what it meant to be truly devoted.
Her proudest accomplishments were not just her educational qualifications but witnessing the growth of her family. She took immense joy in her role as a mother to her son, Robert (Jacqueline) Jordan, Jr., and reveled in being a grandmother to Brandon (Jana) Jordan, Olivia Jordan, Lauryn Jordan, and Domanick Jordan. Her heart swelled with pride at the sight of her great-grandchildren, Damien, Dion, and Celine Jordan, and she found joy in every single one of their achievements.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Robert; her sisters, Judy A. Wilson and Robin Wilson; her niece, Ashaman Wilson-Perry; her son and daughter-in-law, Robert (Jacqueline) Jordan, Jr.; her grandchildren, Brandon (Jana), Olivia, Lauryn, and Domanick; and her great-grandchildren, Damien, Dion, and Celine. Her legacy will continue to shine brightly through those she inspired and loved.
Although Dr. Linda Wilson is now at rest, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, intelligence, and love, a testament to a life well-lived. We will forever hold her memory close and find comfort in the joy she brought to us all.
