Douglas Leonard Ware, 56, passed away at his home (the ranch) on Wednesday, May 17th, 2023.
Doug was born in Akron, Ohio on June 3rd, 1966 to Carl and Mildred Ware. He worked as a security dispatcher at Norton Brownsboro Hospital.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 33 years, Teresa Ware; daughter, Ali Darland (Brandon); son, Kevin Ware (Kelsey); stepdaughter, Stacey Ferguson; mother, Millie Ware; sister, Stephanie Ballard (Dale); nephews, Chad Ballard (Tim) and Eric Ballard (Rachel); niece, Brooke Jung (Chris); his best friend of over 25 years, Josh Gowen (Melissa); his 2 Chow Chows, Yingvae and Sian; and many other friends and family members.
He is preceded in death by his father, Carl Ware; his childhood best friend; Kevin Groom, who his son was named after; Chow Chows (Fudog and Chewy), and a dozen cats.
Doug's personality was larger than his love for Goodwill. Most nights he could be found playing Golden Tee and listening to 80s hair bands in his basement with his best friend, and neighbor, Josh. He lived for summers by the pool and having his friends and family over to tell his stories; most that you had probably already heard a few times. He was a loyal fan of the Cleveland Browns, even if they never had a chance of winning a Super Bowl. If you knew Doug, you knew he loved his Toyota Camry, regardless of how many miles were on it.
Doug was a giver. Whether it was the shirt off his back, a kind word, or just a helping hand, and never asked for anything in return.
Doug had a knack for keeping the party going, and would want everyone to celebrate the life he lived.
Visitation will be from 1 PM to 6 PM on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Drive). A service to celebrate Doug's life will follow that evening at 6 PM. Doug will be laid to rest privately in Floydsburg Cemetery in Crestwood.
